Flexible individual appointment of approx. 5 hours for beginners and advanced learners.
This course teaches basic theoretical and practical knowledge about film development by hand, as well as more in-depth knowledge and techniques for advanced students.
After this course, beginners will be able to develop films themselves at home. For advanced students, the course can be tailored to a specific theme upon request.

Overview and differences between film types, guidance in choosing the right film
Overview of photochemistry and choosing the right developer
Possibilities for individual film development
Development of your own films in the course and advice for implementation at home
Creation of an analogue contact sheet on photo paper in 24x30
All laboratory materials required for the course are included in the price and will be provided. However, course participants are asked to bring at least one already exposed black and white film with them to the appointment, either 35mm or roll film.

Duration: approx. 4 hours
Location: Butzlab photo lab by Kira Enss in Hamburg
Number of participants: As an individual course or for two people who register together.

Kira Enss has been running the analogue photo lab Butzlab in Hamburg since 2005, where she creates analogue silver gelatin prints for exhibitions, art fairs, collections and archives, as well as photographic editions.
In her courses she gives insight into artistic work in the analogue darkroom.
