Course instructor: Marc Stache
Intensive one-day course for a comprehensive introduction to the historical analog fine art printing technique of cyanotype.
Invented by John Herschel in 1842, cyanotype is a historical analog photographic technique famous for its deep blue, monochromatic images.
In the 19th century, plant studies, maps, plans (blueprints), and documents were recorded in this way.
This photogram technique is still very popular today.
For UV exposure, we work in the course with our beginner UV exposure kit, as well as with the professional JOBO Artisan LED UV exposure unit.
Together we create cyanotypes on paper, as well as on fabric (jute bags).
A selection of photographic image templates and objects is available.
You are welcome to bring your own images and objects.
