Termine können individuell vereinbart weden.
Take part in this beginner's course and learn the basics of indigo printing in just one day.
Blue printing, also called cyanotype, is a historical photographic technique with beautiful cyan-blue hues.
During the workshop, participants will work with (non-toxic) photo chemistry and learn all the basics of this simple and fascinating technique.
Expose photographic templates and objects - it's about playing with light and light-sensitive materials, the essential foundations of photography.
By the end of the course you will have created many of your own indigo prints and will be able to continue working with the technique on your own in the future.
The workshop will be led by Kirsten Heuschen. She works as a visual artist specializing in experimental photography, and the workshop will take place in her studio, which offers a beautiful view of the Spree River. It is located in Schöneweide and is part of a listed industrial building.

Kusinfos
Please bring: A wide selection of photographic images and objects will be provided for exposure. However, you are also welcome to bring your own objects and images.
Image templates must be printed on tracing paper or foil.
They must be black and white and inverted, meaning you need a negative!
The size ratio is 1:1 (one DIN A4 template results in one DIN A4 image, etc.). The contrast of the images should be relatively high. At the copy shop, you can ask them to make the print as dark as possible (like for screen printing).
For self-printing, we recommend our Solarfast or Fotospeed printing foils.
