Image retouching
For black and white image retouching, the colors neutral black, gray, brown and white are particularly suitable, and of course, they can also be mixed with each other.
As with liquid colors, "less is more" and "practice makes perfect" apply.
Analogue image retouching requires a steady hand, some practice and, above all, a lot of patience.
You should imagine that you are using the fine brush tip to transport the paint to the white point in the picture.
Therefore: Don’t paint, dab!
To retouch small dust spots or lint, we recommend using a brush that is as fine as possible, such as our Da Vinci Restauro size 3/0.
Coloring
To color pictures, we recommend using a wider brush, such as our Da Vinci Restauro size 4, and diluting the paint heavily with water before use.
