The Lithuanian photographer and amber collector Kazimieras Mizgiris (*1950) knows the dune formations of the Curonian Spit like no other. For decades he has visited the shifting dunes of the "Baltic Sahara" right outside his front door in Nida with his camera early in the morning - mainly in spring and autumn. In the spectacular dune landscape he photographs the bizarre formations reminiscent of prehistoric animals, which are reshaped daily by wind, sand and ice.
An impressive illustrated book with sepia-toned analogue photographs.
