This course provides in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge about creating enlargements on baryta paper.
The goal is to create an optimally developed and high-quality handprint from your own negative on baryta paper.
This includes technical processing and finishing, as well as image interpretation and creative possibilities.

Course Content
Overview and differences of photographic papers, guidance on choosing the right paper
Overview and selection of photographic chemistry
Correct handling and processing of baryta photographic paper
Techniques for optimal and careful development of the handprint, also with individual focus requests.
Creation of own prints during the course and, if necessary, advice for implementation in your own darkroom
All darkroom materials required for the course are included in the price and will be provided. Printing will be exclusively on baryta paper and up to a maximum of 24x30cm.
However, course participants should bring their own B&W negatives, 35mm, roll film or 4x5".

Since 2005, Kira Enss has been running the analogue photo laboratory Butzlab in Hamburg, where she produces analogue silver gelatin prints for exhibitions, art fairs, collections, and archives, as well as photographic editions.
