Creating analog black and white prints in the darkroom is the great passion of our founder Marc Stache, which ultimately led to the founding of Edition Argentum.
Therefore, your pictures are exclusively developed by the boss himself, who gladly uses his many years of experience to achieve the best possible results.
We offer classic analog hand-prints, developed in the darkroom, on high-quality silver gelatin baryta paper with a thick cardstock backing or, as a more affordable option, prints on black and white photographic paper with a PE plastic base.
For exhibitions, archives, and collections, baryta paper is always our recommendation due to its higher durability and image quality. However, for private photo series, photo albums, portfolios, etc., the more affordable and slightly thinner PE paper is often a good choice.
Photographic paper used
Black and White PE Paper:
As standard photographic paper with a PE plastic base, we use Kentmere VC Select with a semi-matte surface. Other surfaces are available upon request and at an additional cost.
Black and White Baryta Paper:
The prices quoted refer to the use of silver gelatin baryta paper of the type Ilford Multigrade Classic. Other paper types, such as Ilford Multigrade Warmtone, Foma, or Bergger, are also available upon request.
Since paper prices can vary significantly, please contact us for a customized quote.
Prints from negatives
We enlarge from black and white negatives in film formats Minox film, 110 pocket film, 35mm small format, medium format 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, 6x8, 6x9, 6x12, up to sheet film 6x9cm, 9x12cm, and 4x5inch.
Prints from digital data
If you only have digital image data, it is possible to expose them onto black and white negative film first.
Further processing in the darkroom then follows as with a conventional negative. Please send us a message if you are interested in a customized offer.
Processing time
This can vary depending on the order situation and quantity. Please inquire beforehand for time-critical orders.
