Dilution for film or paper 1+5 to 1+10
- Fixing time (at dilution 1+5 for films according to the manufacturer at least 3:00 minutes, to be on the safe side we recommend a flat rate of about 7-8 minutes.
- for photo paper: 45- 120 seconds
- Recommendation for paper: Two-bath fixation 1+5 for 45-60 seconds each with constant movement
Use for Van Dyke / Argyrotype
In the specialist literature, weak sodium thiosulfate baths are recommended for fixing Vandyke prints. Our kit contains such sodium thiosulfate in powder form, but this chemical is only available in the chemicals trade, as all fixers available directly on the market are now ammonium thiosulfate quick fixers.
According to Moersch, the alkaline quick fixer ATS is also suitable for fixing Van Dyke prints and argyrotypes in a weaker setting.
Dilution 1+10, fixing time about 3 minutes.
