Odourless ammonium thiosulphate quick fixer with alkaline pH value
While most fixers have an acidic pH value, this fixer is a little special with an alkaline pH value of 7.5 - 8.0.
This reduces the leaching time for baryta papers and protects materials coated with liquid photo emulsion from delamination due to a pH value that is too low.
When processing paper, it is essential to use an acidic stop bath after development to safely interrupt the development process and protect the durability of the fixer from contamination. We recommend Moersch citric acid stop bath or Adox Adostop.
Fixing time (at dilution 1+5)
- According to the manufacturer, films should be at least 3:00 minutes long. To be on the safe side, we recommend a flat rate of around 7-8 minutes.
- for photo paper: 45- 120 seconds
Use of materials coated with liquid photo emulsion:
We recommend a ratio of 1+5 to keep the processing time as short as possible (60-90 seconds).
This reduces the risk of layer detachment during fixation.
durability
- unopened concentrate: 2 years
- after opening, depending on the filling level approx. 1 year
- Shelf life of the working solution: approximately 2 months when stored in an airtight bottle.
Information on the disposal of photo chemicals can be found in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which you can download here or find on the website of the respective manufacturer.
capacity
Capacity per liter of concentrate:
- approx. 50 to 60 films, about 10 films for approach 1+5 (or 2-4m2)
