Contact print frames made of wood for fine printing processes (such as cyanotype, Van Dyke, argyrotype, platinum palladium).
With glass pane and fixable, hinged back panel.
Professional contact print frames for analogue fine printing differ from simple contact print frames from the darkroom in that they are printed on from the back.
In fine printing, the term "print out process" or "POP" for short is used. This means that you constantly check the exposure progress, especially when you are exposing in the sun. To do this, you have to be able to open the frame from the back, halfway so that the negative and paper do not slip.
Contact print frames made of wood are often elaborately hand-crafted frame constructions made from high-quality and expensive woods.
But these small works of art often cost several hundred euros.
We offer you a simple but practical frame for the exposure of paper formats up to 30x40cm at a pleasingly low price.
use
- Position the opened frame with the glass side facing down and insert the negative first.
- Next comes the emulsion-coated paper (or fabric) with the emulsion side facing the negative.
- Close the back of the frame with the wooden board and attach the clamps
- To check during exposure, you can open the rear flap while the paper and negative are still held in place by the other clamps. This allows you to continue exposure if necessary without the contents slipping.
Important: To check, remove the frame from the light source to avoid accidental exposure of the paper when opening the frame.
